What’s really the point of a business executive headshot? At C1M, we think the whole point it to create connection with your potential clients. Part of connection is recognition, and that’s why it’s so important to have a fresh and up-to-date headshot. The last thing you want is to have someone’s first thought upon seeing you in person be that they don’t recognize you because you look nothing like your business headshot.

A new hairstyle, a new hair color, a change in your role within your company or even just a change in how you feel and want to present yourself are all good reasons to update your headshot. (Simple aging is a good reason, too – though we hope you never let your business headshot get that far out of date!)

Look at these two business headshots we created for a client:

No one would say that the photo on the left is a bad one. And you might think that you can see on the surface what the change is – blond hair to brown, a fairly significant and obvious change. But listen to what our client had to say about why she returned to C1M for a new headshot just a few months after the photo on the left was taken:

“A lot has changed in my life since my first headshot. I feel like I’m a different person. I feel more comfortable knowing who I am and knowing my career path, so I wanted to update my photo to best represent who I feel like I am now. I’m very happy that Walter was understanding and willing to work with me. He has a good eye for things that I don’t see, and he’s also easy to talk to. I can be honest with him and then we can work together toward the result I want. I think the photograph that came out of this session was very, very good.”

We think so, too, and we love helping people craft a business executive headshot that they love and are proud to use. If you don’t feel like your headshot shows the best possible you, it’s hard to feel confident using it. Projecting a lack of confidence to a potential client can sometimes make the difference between closing a deal and losing a deal. We’d love to work with you to create a business executive headshot that shows the world the you that you want seen.
