  • Art Gallery Show – Come One, Come All

    art gallery show

Twice a year, at the end of each of our Photography Beyond the Basics courses, comes a very special Friday night.  We take our fancy clothes out of mothballs, dust off our punch bowl, crank up our Cirque du Soleil soundtrack, and fling open our doors to the general public.  Our lobby overflows with food, drink, and conversation. Our utilitarian classroom transcends mere functionality to become a wonderland of form, color and artistry, which you’re invited to browse at your leisure.

We get pretty excited about our Art Gallery Show. Can you tell?

For many of our students, it’s the first time they’ve publicly exhibited their work, sharing their vision and talent with family, friends, and any guests who join us for the evening. And we love seeing the stunning works of art our students have learned to produce in just 8 weeks. Some photographs are available for sale that evening, too. Our students tell us that it is a wonderful feeling to walk away from the Art Gallery Show being able to say that they have sold their work.

Our next Art Gallery Show will be on Friday, November 14th, from 5:30 to 8:00. We hope you can join us. It’s always an exciting evening, and a wonderful confidence builder for our student photographers. All are welcome, whether you attend the show in support of a particular photographer or out of a love for art in general. Nothing makes us happier than hosting a crowd – and our shows usually draw close to 200 guests over the course of the evening. Enjoy a lively cocktail hour with us and admire some jaw-dropping photography while you do. Who knows? You might go home with something new to hang on your wall. Or you might even be inspired to pick up a camera yourself …
